Events & Classes
Cancellations by you
Cancellations for any Coil & Cord event — including classes, workshops, open practice time, rope jams, and private lessons — must be made at least 3 days in advance to be eligible for a credit toward a future event. Please email coilandcord@gmail.com to request credit for a future event.
If you’re feeling unwell or have a positive COVID or Flu test, reach out to us directly via email. We’ll issue a credit for the cost of your ticket, regardless of the cancellation window.
Cancellations by us
If we need to cancel or reschedule an event for any reason — including inclement weather, MTA disruptions, low enrollment, or scheduling conflicts — your ticket will automatically be carried forward to the rescheduled date. If the new date doesn’t work for you, or if you’d simply prefer your money back, we’ll issue a full refund, no questions asked.
We intend to hold classes as long as the F, G, and/or R trains are running. If a class is canceled, you’ll hear from us by email, so keep an eye on your inbox on days with bad weather.
Promo codes & credits
Promo codes are one-time use and have no cash value. If you used a promo code when registering and receive a credit for a canceled or rescheduled event, that credit will reflect the amount you actually paid — not the original ticket price. Promo code discounts are not carried forward.
The Shop
All retail sales — including rope, ceramics, and other physical goods — are final. We do not offer refunds or exchanges on store purchases.
Donations
For events that accept donations, contributing is always optional — a ticket never requires a donation. If you choose to give, thank you; it goes directly toward keeping the space running and accessible.
Donations to Coil & Cord are non-refundable. Thank you for your support of the space.
Keeping our community safe matters deeply to us — and so does keeping our space accessible. We recognize that COVID tests and vaccines are harder to come by than ever, and that the financial and logistical barriers to accessing them are real. We’re not interested in creating policies that punish people for circumstances outside their control.
With that said, here’s what we ask:
We strongly encourage everyone to test before attending an event, and to stay current with COVID vaccinations if you’re able to. If you’re feeling unwell, have tested positive for COVID or flu in the past several days, or are showing symptoms of any contagious illness, please stay home. We will issue a credit toward a future event — no documentation required, no questions asked.
We welcome and encourage anyone who is immunocompromised, high-risk, or simply wants extra peace of mind to wear a mask. We support you in that.
Individual events may have their own COVID or masking requirements listed in the event description — for example, specifically masked events or higher-precaution gatherings. Those event-level policies take precedence over this general one, so please read your event listing carefully.
